Traffic with
Don DeIulio

Stuck in traffic and don’t know where to turn to? Then Don DeIulio’s your man! In one form or another, Don has been observing and reporting on Tidewater’s traffic tangles since 1976.

Don reports traffic during Macrini’s Morning News Team on 790 AM WNIS, and during Imus in the Morning on its sister station, 850 AM WTAR. Don also reports traffic on WAVY-TV10.

Don was born in Long Beach, California, where his father was stationed, in 1942. His family moved to the Tidewater area in 1948. He was educated in Princess Anne County (now Virginia Beach) and Norfolk City schools. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army and spent three years in the Military Police, stationed in Munich, Germany.

After completing his military police service, Don joined the Norfolk Police Department in 1963 where he worked Precincts, Vice Squad, the Traffic Bureau and, during his last seven years there, Crime Line Coordinator and Police Spokesman. He retired from the Norfolk Police Department after twenty-five years of service and then joined Metro Traffic where he is now Director of Affiliate Relations. In addition to his local traffic reporting duties, Don is responsible for maintaining relations with 26 radio stations and three broadcast television stations.

Long married to Portlock native Jeanette, he has two children and is now a proud granddaddy! He loves to work in the yard and to spend time with his family when this does not interfere with golfing and fishing on the beach.
