Don Burke retired after a twenty year career as a submarine electronics
technician and started his career in radio at WNIS and WTAR.
He left the stations in January of 2003 to pursue other ventures and
returned in November of 2006.
Don has worked as a dive boat captain, commercial fisherman, artificial
reef structure builder, and retail salesman. His most recent job before
returning to the company was as Assistant Director of Operations for a
local office of a national traffic reporting company.
You will hear Don in the mornings on all of the stations in the group and
on WNIS Sundays from noon to one on an Ask the Expert show.
Don frequently fills in for various people at the station and serves as an
assistant engineer.
He is an avid SCUBA diver, ballroom dancer, and motorcycle rider.
Don has lived in the Norfolk area several times. His most recent move
here was in 1987.
